The mixture of both waters is used to cover La Reserva's water needs using a drip irrigation system that guarantees precise and efficient water use. Many of the nutrients extracted are consumed by the trees and other plant species in the resort that are excluded from the water cycle. Both lakes function as urban sustainable drainage systems (USDS), collecting rainwater for reuse. The lake also partially compensates for water evaporation.
